Windows 10: Set Active Hours – this is how it works's done
If you set the so-called Active Hours in Windows 10, you won’t be interrupted by annoying update messages. We’ll tell you how to tailor the feature perfectly to your needs.
Set Active Hours in Windows 10
Active Hours, or hours of use, is when all notifications and restarts due to Windows updates are disabled. New updates are also not installed during these times. For example, you can spend the entire workday undisturbed at the PC.
- To set Active Hours, first open Windows Settings with the key combination [Windows] + [I].
- In the new window, click on the “Update and Security” category.
- In the “Windows Update” tab, select the “Change time of use” entry in the “Update settings” section.
- Finally, set the start and end time of your quiet time and close the settings window. Note, however, that the usage time must not exceed 18 hours.
